During the summer between my junior and senior years in college (coming from humble beginnings,) I lived out of my car, and then finally rented a cot in someone’s kitchen so I could work as a broker’s assistant for an investment bank. 

After I graduated, I landed a job as a news assistant for Reuters. I busted my butt, working long hours, writing articles about the financial markets, and making connections with high-powered traders, which resulted in my being promoted to  Financial Journalist. Yet, I wanted more. I created a niche for myself as a liaison between the reporting and marketing departments, onboarding senior traders at every major Wall Street firm to contribute information to the Reuter’s platform. My reward: I became the senior mortgage-backed securities reporter, and head of the information desk. Soon, I started to crave a bonus over a byline, and made my move into sales trading at Sandler O’Neill. A year and a half later, I became one of the first female institutional mortgage-backed securities brokers at Cantor Fitzgerald. Courted by one of the top news organizations and providers of technical analysis, I agreed to leave the trading floor behind and joined Knight Ridder. Within six months, I became their top performing global salesperson, selling technical analysis to both fixed income and equity traders. I received many awards in recognition of my outstanding performance. I left working for major firms behind to raise my daughter, while still managing my own money.  Never quite getting trading out of my system, I jumped into the deep end to swim with the crypto currency sharks and whales.
